CALL FOR SUBMISSION VISITING PROFESSORS PROGRAM 2025-2026
The Halbert Centre for Canadian Studies is pleased to announce the Call for Submissions for the Visiting Professors Program for the academic year 2025-2026. This program aims to foster academic collaboration and strengthen ties between Canadian and Israeli scholars.
Program Description: The Visiting Professors Program sponsors Canadian scholars to visit the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for a short period of 1-4 weeks. During their stay, the visiting professors are expected to engage in teaching, academic activities, and research to build and enhance academic ties between both countries.
They will be encouraged to conduct small workshops or intensive mini-courses, deliver departmental and/or public lectures, meet with students and faculty and participate in research activities. Visiting professors should have specific departmental or academic sponsorship, and the Halbert Centre can assist in finding appropriate sponsorship.
Financial Support: The Halbert Centre will reimburse the visiting professors up to a total of 3,500 CAD (Canadian Dollars) for the cost of airfare to Israel and housing fees.
Application Deadline: Applications for the Visiting Professors Program must be submitted to the Halbert Centre for Canadian Studies by February 25, 2025.
The application must be submitted by the chair of the hosting department at the Hebrew University.
Review and Decision: The Academic Committee of the Halbert Centre will review the applications and announce its decisions during the second semester.
